1958 Bandai, Plymouth Fury Convertible in Original Box

Extraordinary Japanese built tin litho friction drive Plymouth Fury 2-door convertible in near mint to mint condition. Never played with. Complete with original box and advertising insert.

Fabulous multicolored (two tone) embossed apple-red body with black raised rear quarter panels, orange roof cowl, and separately tabbed silver and white side molding with accurate "Fury" logo's. Lime green interior with pleated bench seats, cross-hatched floor boards, detailed instrument dashboard and blue tinted metal steering wheel. The Plymouth company name was amusingly misspelled as "Plymauth" on the dashboard (see last photo).

Also features exterior trunk mounted spare tire housing with chrome hub, wrap around chrome plated tin windshield with "smoker" windows, blue tinted celluloid windshield, huge chrome plated wrap around front and rear bumper/headlight assemblies, solid rubber tires with embossed black checkerboard bulls-eye hubs, and embossed litho detailed undercarriage. "Plymouth" logo embossed in raised capital letters on the rear trunk.

Difficult to find original box includes color tinted photograph of the actual car with driver and passenger. Drawn portrait illustrations appear on the long side aprons. Original Bandai advertising insert includes B&W photo's of eight other auto models including the rare Chrysler Imperial Convertible. Quality Assurance test results for braking, noise, and "brake" (i.e., break) down times are listed on the other side. It indicates that you can play with this toy for 83 hours before it breaks?
